Baguio Cathedral
The Baguio Cathedral sits on top of a hill called by Belgian Catholic Mission as Mount Mary. The Baguio cathedral served as evacuation center and shelter during World War II withstanding Japanese carpet bombing, saving thousands of lives.
Beside the Baguio Cathedral is a parking lot that also serves as a view deck for Baguio's surroundings including the Baguio Athletic Bowl, Burnham Park, Mount Sto Tomas, Baguio City Hall.
Baguio Cathedral Frontage
The beautiful twin-spired church is accessed thru Session Road thru a steep stairway. It may also be accessed using vehicles by driving thru an access road close to the Baguio Post office.
Baguio Cathedral can be seen from many spots within the city. A nice close view of the church can be seen from SM Shopping Center. It also has nice view from Burnham Park.
Baguio Cathedral On One Side
On July 14, 2004, a news was reported in the papers that the statue of St. Therese wept with what appeared to be blood. According to the news, a churchgoer noticed the tears who then informed the church helper about the finding.
